Privacy Policy

Last updated August 18, 2026

Bauhaüs is pre-launch, and this site does exactly one thing with your data: it takes an email address for the waitlist. This policy describes that, and nothing more, because there is nothing more.

What we collect

One thing — the email address you type into the waitlist form. We ask for it, you give it, and that is the whole exchange. We do not ask for your name, your address, your measurements, or your payment details, and there is no field on this site that would let you provide them.

Our email provider records ordinary delivery information alongside your address, such as when you subscribed and whether a message we sent was opened. That is standard mailing-list behavior and is described in their own privacy notice, linked below.

Analytics and cookies

This site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads our measurement tags. Those tags record ordinary usage information — which pages you open, how long you stay, the approximate region you are in, the device and browser you use, and the site or ad that referred you — and they set cookies in your browser so a return visit can be told apart from a new one.

We use this to see which pages people actually read and where they give up, so we can fix the ones that are not working. We do not sell it, we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you, and it is never joined to your waitlist address to identify you personally.

How we use it

Your address is used to send you an invite when a spot opens, and to send occasional updates about the launch. That is the entire purpose. We do not sell your email address, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Who processes it

The waitlist is hosted by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), which stores the list and sends the mail on our behalf. This site is hosted by Netlify, which serves the pages and keeps routine server logs including IP addresses, as effectively every web host does. Measurement runs through Google (Google Tag Manager and the analytics tags it loads), which processes the usage information described above.

All three act as service providers to us and are bound by their own published privacy commitments: Mailchimp at intuit.com/privacy, Netlify at netlify.com/privacy, and Google at policies.google.com/privacy.

How long we keep it

We keep your address until you unsubscribe, or until the waitlist is retired after launch — whichever comes first. Unsubscribing removes you from the list, and we do not maintain a shadow copy of people who have left.

Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. That is a setting on the account, not a promise we have to remember to honor, and it applies to the usage records described above rather than to anything that identifies you.

Your choices

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You do not need to explain why, and you do not need our permission.

For the analytics side, your browser is the control: blocking third-party scripts or cookies, or using a tracking-protection extension, stops the measurement described above. The site works the same either way — nothing here is gated on being measured.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to receive a copy of it. Residents of the EU and UK have these rights under the GDPR; residents of California have comparable rights under the CCPA. We honor these requests regardless of where you live, because with a single email address on file they cost us nothing to honor.

To make any such request, write to privacy@yourbauhaus.com. We will not charge you for it or treat you differently for asking.

Children

Bauhaüs is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, tell us and we will remove the address.

Changes

When the app launches it will handle considerably more data than this site does — the photographs you send, the pieces in your closet, the stylings you request. That will require a fuller policy, and this one will be replaced rather than quietly stretched to cover it. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
